I tend to work with too many layers, and at times it takes me much too much time to add scratches and stains and rough-ups. But I feel that it sets a tone for the story, a gritty lens to look through to the action... and that feeling is as important to me as the line work or colours. This one had a lot more smoke when I imaged it originally, so it might get a few more layers of fog added later....

At first glance this one feels a bit empty as a composition, with all that bare landscape between the two characters, but remember, this unlettered story page still needs the last ( and maybe the most important) addition, the words.
